Barrett's next board?

He mentioned he was looking for something lightweight. Biggrin

Thanks to our friend Dimitris (zaosan) for the heads up

Pretty interesting - this guy names Patrik Airinside is making hollow boards.

Apparently, it's a windsport trend: https://windsportatlanta.com/content/when-your-name-airton-111419 Biggrin

Although, I should add that I wouldn't trust that second guy to make a lightweight hollow board. Lol

Gee William, perhaps he doesn't really need lighter board. Have you told him about foiling?

Re: Barrett's next board?

The honeycomb windsurfing board construction may be similar to honeycomb aircraft construction. I once flew a four-place plane, known as the Grumman Tiger, with honeycomb bonded construction. The plane was light and fast for its size. I'll have to look into Patrik boards that are foil compatible. Thanks for pointing this out.

Patrik's hollow, honeycomb construction sure looks like superior, leading edge technology for both windsurfing and foiling board design.

His live presentation from Boot Dusseldorf. Longish but a ton of information about board and sail design; and foil racing/technique.
