Back from Hatteras!

Okay, I couldn't get anyone from the ski club or this group interested in Kiting in Hatteras but I must say it was great!

The first day was a bit windy 25mph plus so I was on a 4 meter 2 line kite. Brutal as the thing just moved at the slightest touch. The second and third days were great and on a 15 meter...definitely a difference in wind!

Anyway, the guys are Real Kiteboarding treated us right and I'm finally feeling a bit more comfortable...Not sure I'd be comfortable on Lanier yet but if the traffic was light maybe I'd give it a shot. Of course, I haven't bought any equipment so unless we had 30mph my 3m trainer kite won't cut it.

If anyone is heading to Lanier anytime soon let me know as I'd like to see where you guys are launching from.

Scott

Congratulations! I took 2 lessons with Real this Summer as well - and loved it. I'd like to watch the gang kite out here as well. I was in Jacksonville this past weekend for the Downs Syndrom Association Jax - on Jacksonville Beach and I was a kiter having a blast. - Richard

...OK, try to put together a coherent post. That is: I was in Jax for the 3rd Annual DSAJ walk on Jax beach and there was a kiter out on the water. The wind was mid to upper teens, side on shore and there was some surf - mostly chest high. He was just going out and back with each reach going down wind - no big deal just walk back up the beach later. cool.
