I drove by Galts yesterday and the water is over the day use aree picnic tables and in the parking lot, and still rising. The day use area is under water and closed. Forget sailing out of there for a while unless you launch at the boat ramp. Those big pines would make some good jibe marks but watch out for the charcoal grills.
something to remember with these lakes way up. Not only remember to use a weed fin to avoid grilles (just kidding on that one) but look for floating stuff that would as soon rip the bottom off your board. Voltar hit a log yesterday and had the enjoyable experience of sailing back finless (a prolonged water start/butt slide). All sorts of stuff that's been on the lake banks for years is suddenly floating around.
that would mean my whole dock walkway is under water- @#$%!
You can probably launch from the trees at Van Pugh or Sunrise (where the water may be close to the parking lot)
