I agree completely. It’s like Mountain Biking, back in the 80’s and early 90’s mountain bikes were just mountain bikes (more or less). Now there’s a bunch of different disciplines each requiring a pretty different bike setup.. Downhill, Enduro, Cross Country, Dirt Jump, Slope Style.. double crown forks with slacked out geometry, 26, 27.5. 29” wheels.. the list goes on and on, but it’s all still mountain biking.
Technology always advances making more differentiation for certain conditions and users, but I think too much division can be harmful to the sport.

Actually the IQ foil does come as a set with a certain size Drake fin, which is to be used when the conditions don't allow for windfoiling, like excess of 30 knots of wind.
