Hopefully you all got some good wind this weekend like we did.
This is a few of us at Ft Desoto North Beach. Was a bit big on the board (115 Dyno) but it was the best board I have for this at the moment. 4.4 then moved up to a 5.0 later. Biggest conditions I've sailed in successfully. Other than some slips in shore break and whitewater it was pretty uneventful. It started out mostly onshore with a little bit of side shore, then rolled around more north to be mostly side/on
Had a goofy crash a while back that tweaked my ribs and wanted to hopefully avoid that with the impact vest and helmet but turns out it wasn't too crazy. That crash I think was on a 6.7, a much milder day!

I'm not sure exactly where this video was. I ran into Scott yesterday, he was out kiting, but there were no foilers out. Some finners had started with 3.7s so it may have been too strong there for this gear.
Seems like there were a lot of kite injuries yesterday, at least 2 paramedic calls that we saw

Excellent footage. Mad respect for punching out through that. Yeah, if the fins are really on 3.7, I'd say it's a fin day and leave the foil at home. I had my 91 l. board today but we had about a 100 yd wind shadow and wanted no part of trying to drift out to it.

Thank you, yeah Elise got some good videos and Scott takes some awesome videos. He's been learning to wing so I've run into him more lately. Before he used to sit out in a kayak when not kiting and take video with a drone. Last time I was out in the bay he was there flying around on foil.
This video inspired me to change my jibes in heavy wind a bit. Yesterday, my jibes at times looked more like a wingfoil jibe and it worked very well to shorten the radius (to avoid crossing too much chop) and deal with the excess power.
If anyone is curious, I'll be happy to elaborate.
It works in lower winds also
With lower wind, you'd need a lot of wave energy which isn't common here. I was doing these with pretty much no sail pressure from start to finish. This isn't a jibe where one just lets go halfway through. It's a jibe where I didn't really have much pressure in the sail in the first place.
Well, maybe other people here jibe without a lot of sail pressure in lower winds here. Not my usual cup of tea.
