There's a room in h*ll...

There's a room in hell filled with windsurfers, wingers and kiters. They are wearing 5/4 wetsuits that according to the size charts fit them.

It takes me 10 minutes to get out my suit that's supposedly the next size up. I think Mephistopheles supplies the size charts for the industry. No, I'm pretty sure about that.

Go figure! My normal shirt size is medium, but when it comes to wetsuits, my size is LARGE. I have an O'Neil size large-long that fits well.

Well, I guess I'm wrong since you're 6-3 and 200 lbs. ROFL (Narrator: Barrett isn't 6-3 and 200 lbs)

There is a difference between American sizes and the rest of the world. I was size M in Europe, but now I’m size S. I think Neil is using non American sizes. Their M fits well for me.

I hear you on sizing. But whether they call it M, S or 50 (what I used to wear in Pryde/Ion), just make it fit the dimensions they state. I tried suits from both NP and Mystic and there is zero way I fit in the suits suggested by the size charts.

The Pryde chart is equally as silly: https://www.neilpryde.com/pages/waterwear-size-chart I'd look at that and say I'm solidly a 48 based on the suggested body measurements. And... I'd be returning it.

I seem to recall my Promotion wetsuit sizing to be accurate. That was about 15 years ago. They're in the U.S. so maybe that's why.

Do you know what size you (or anyone for that matter) wear in a Mystic suit? I'm needing to get a new suit and North Beach has a sale on Mystics. I think you and I are roughly close in size. They only have M and L size.

My favorite suit, BTW, is 3/2 Patagonia, size L.......I never thought of my self as a size L.....

After my suit dries, I stuff the arms, neck and just above the ankles with rolled up towels so that it will not be tight when I use it next.
The manufacturer told me to do this when I sent them a nastygram about their suit being way to tight even after giving them my dimensions and weight so they could reccomend what size to buy.
This has worked ok so far but next time I will order above my reccomend size

Randy, quit trying to make me look bad. Everyone knows you are a L Lol (Randy and I are the same size)

I'm wearing M in Mystic. The back zip 4/3 is pretty easy to get into. The front zip 5/4 is a kind of hard to get on and takes a solid 5+ minutes or to get off. It feels like ten at times. Thankfully, I can change in the van because I'd have succumbed to hypothermia if I'd changed outside like I used to. However, once on both fit wonderfully as the neoprene is very soft. Maybe like your Patagonia, but these aren't smooth skin like suits of old. My 5/4 is about as warm as my old Ion smooth skin 4/3.

More bad news - you are really an XL (Euro 52). I just checked the size on my NP 5000 4/3, which has a "straight jacket" fit and is about as easy to get in and out of.

Thanks anyway. It helps a lot to have another "XL" to compare sizes with.

The new suit is also designed to “fit a broad range of crew members, accommodating at least 90 percent of the U.S. male and female population,”

"Artemis astronauts will still have to wear diapers, he admitted, saying that sometimes the simplest solutions are the best."

So... never buy a used wetsuit from an astronaut is what I'm reading. Lol

It's a little known fact that astronauts suffer from really bad diaper rash on long missions.

So, I guess another room is filled with astronauts with empty jars and tubes of ointment?
