No, Lake Lanier Isn't 38ºF

The Corps is reporting a water surface temperature at the dam of 38ºF. I brought an accurate dial thermometer and measured the water at 49ºF in the cove at Van Pugh Park. The Corps temperature is wrong. So Sunday was cold, but not that cold.

(To be sure I compared my thermometer to two others at home and they read the same.)

Happy Solstice!
Measured 51º hull surface temp below the waterline in my boat. Gonna leave the fully charged battery on board. Good
"January thaw" right around the corner Good

Well, from here on out, the days get longer. At least we have that going for us.

interesting that there have been and will be all sorts of weather extremes from flooding in Buffalo, 1 hr temp plunge in CO and, of course, cold temps in so many places

I think the LLSC cam had some "brownies" last night to stave off the cold.

I think I'm going to lay off the foil for a few weeks until the water gets warmer. I don't want to hit any frozen cod and break something.

Chris, loving that avatar!
