" The weather nightmare before Christmas
A sprawling cold wave and blizzard will bring some of the nation’s most dangerous and disruptive pre-holiday weather in recent decades. "

Great article for weather nerds:

The lake looked awesome today. Very windy, whitecaps, steaming.

I drove over Hartwell early this morning. Similar scene of steam rising off the water. Coming home tonight, rang Gilmer when the temp in Buford was 11. The density altitude was -2000 ft ie the air density was the equivalent of being that far below sea level. For comparison, a dry day at 50 degrees, density altitude should be roughly the actual altitude and in the summer it can be 4000 ft or more above sea level. You could have used a really small sail today if you lost all your senses and gone out.

Great tail wind going north. Van got rocked a few times going up and back by the wind gusts. Having grown up driving a VW van, not anything I haven't seen before. The "bus" would get pushed sideways just by trucks passing.
