Welcome! Even after you find your board, don't be a stranger. Whereabouts in SC do you live?
We'll keep an eye out. Finding those takes a while so be patient. They remain a gold standard for a racing longboard outside the much more expensive Starboards and Exocets from this century. For those not aware, the later Superlight II had the same mold but used a slightly heavier construction and slightly smaller centerboard plus some models lacked the adjustable mast track. Otherwise, for just scooting around, it's very similar. I have both an Equipe II and SII. It's likely that they'll be handed down via my will some day.
Did find this "Equipe" on FB for $800. Actually a pretty good price for 80s Italian steel and Campy SR. Anyone looking for a classic retro steed could do worse. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/588465229294581/
edit: If it fit me and I had the spare money, I'd buy this in a heartbeat. A bit of rust on the chrome but there are some great details on the frame and all the Campy deliciousness.
Thanks! I'm in the Charleston area. Used to race competitively in UK in the 90's on an Equipe II, and later on a Cat. Had to leave my longboards in UK when I moved here, and now miss being able to go on long distance cruises or makeshift courses in the harbor. I think I have found a SuperLight II, but am not really excited about the extra weight when compared to an Equipe II CHS or XR...I have enough extra weight already!!!!
