Fall Classic weekend

It's looking like a nice, classic longboard weekend with 6-10 mph breezes from the SW. Sunday has the possibility for a bit more but racing has to finish up by early afternoon.

Temps in the low/mid 70s.

Nothing crazy but we should be nicely powered around the race course.

This is a great opportunity for those curious but shy to charter a Windsurfer LT and give it a go. No one cares how well you do. All that matters is that you are there, having smiles. It's always a learning experience and a ton of fun to see all the sails on the beach. Hope to see you there!

Re: Fall Classic weekend

The updated NWS forecast is showing more wind, in the ideal direction, for Saturday and Sunday with continued mild temperatures. Yay. (With the water temp at 68º, neoprene has been the call for recent outings). Windsurfer LT charters are available at a bargain rate thanks to Sandy Point/Progressive Sports and a subsidy from WindsportAtlanta.com . Contact Cody, to reserve one. Also if you need anything from their shop, save any delivery charges this weekend. Get your goodies here: https://progressivesports.com/

There is no pre-registration but please RSVP to me (coming or not and requests for meal deals for non-racers)  so we can plan accordingly. Register Friday evening or Saturday morning before 10 a.m. at the LLSC pavilion. $50 entry ($30 meal deal, $20 for Saturday dinner only) covers everything for the weekend: great racing, free camping, 5 meals, exotic beers, cool swag and supper on Friday thanks to the Shell Point crew! It's so cheap you can't afford to stay home! There's a swell Atlanta Fall Classic embroidered windbreaker available as a separate purchase- check 'em out when you get there.

The weather looks good for non-racers to sail or hang out so feel free to come and invite your friends to come spectate from the lawn or beach.

Re: Fall Classic weekend

Looks like some wind the next 4 afternoons - great!

Question : if not racing, should one sail elsewhere (VP I guess since OF is closed) to stay out of the way of racers and race course?

I am still trying to figure out camping - on the fence since we just finished a week of camping at OF and have another week coming up at SGI in a week. People are starting to suggest that we sell the house as we seem to be living at campsites ?.
but question above applies regardless.

No, plenty of water to go around! It's also a great way to spectate. I think your cool camper will fit on a few of the sites in the woods but for sure on the hill above the clubhouse where there are power pedestal things for RVs (but no water). I hope you can make it! Good
