First Day of Fall ?

In case nobody noticed. Note the air temp also. Current readings are not reassuring.

Re: First Day of Fall ?

Gilmer isn't reporting much of wind so far this morning, although it may tick up for a bit pretty soon.

Honestly, I'm too shattered from yesterday to chase it this morning. And, I'm in complete denial about the temps. It's like watching a slow leak in your wing tank when you are halfway across the Atlantic as the warmth starts to bleed out of the water. It's inevitable that we'll end up in mid 40 degree water in February because I do it every *&^ing year despite promises that this year I'm going to go to FL more in the winter.

But not much of a dome effect for the next six months, Amirite?

William - Sam saw you flying along and flying through jibes. Very cool!

That's kind. Apologies for not going over and saying hello to him. Fast? Sometimes going slow was not an option in those big gusts. Shok

Well done on your progress. It's made you a regular back on the water. Good

Not exactly what I was hoping for.....I'll leave it at that.

Re: First Day of Fall ?

There wasn't enough wind foil, but my bigger issue was losing a screw that holds my foil in place on the power plate. An M8 10 mm Hex Socket 316 stainless steel metric flat head screw is not on the shelf of every store in town. I found an M8 10 mm Philips head that will work at Ace, but need to get the real McCoy (hopefully) from Chinook or Bolt Depot before I go out in salt water somewhere. So I couldn't sail or foil, but I could paddle.

I presume you know by now that Bolt Depot has them. For everyone else, if there are a few essential screws/bolts that frequently get taken off and put back on, worth it to have a few spares in the tool box. Nothing worse than havnig a 45 cent screw bounce off the board and into the grass never to be seen again and spoil a session or forgetting said screw at home. Even if you drive from Van Pugh to HD or West Marine, you've killed an hour and a half from a good session. Don't ask me how I know. Blush
