Coming winds!

All the silly superstitious talk about jinxing the wind by talking about it got me motivated to actually DO something about it.
As the current year's Wind Altar Stoker, I've determined that it's time to open the box and restore the "internal tension needed for inducing wind..." (detailed in FORCE IV - CARE OF THE GREAT WIND ALTAR). The Great Wind Altar is out and catching the sun's rays. I'm reviewing the detailed procedures, getting fresh incense and shopping for real Amstel Bier (not the light kind) so get ready and preflight that gear! We'll start with 10-15 knots... (don't want to be too greedy so early in the season). Good

I'd settle for 7-12 kts at this point. OTOH, this has been a good time to fill in all the scratches on my foils, work on board projects, etc.

Altar full text (all pages). Humor has never been in short supply in this group. https://windsportatlanta.com/wiki/The_Wind_Altar#The_Full_Text

No reason to feel bad. I'm just a little OCD about my wings and I've been working on the board project a couple of months and this is a good spell to get it finished. It required decent weather and my being around a lot of the day as I needed to leave the garage door open a bit. That part is done and now we are done to finishing details. Reveal coming soon.

btw, up in Gainesville this weekend and saw a sniff of the morning easterlies we see this time of year (Aug- Oct). Great memories of late summer/early fall E/NE sessions so a small sense of excitement seeing the leaves move a bit. Not enough to sail but getting there.

Re: Coming winds!

Looking forward to your board project reveal.

I do envy how your equipment looks in tip top
shape at all times - I am just lacking the knowledge and initiative to get mine decent looking.

We just finished a long walk and no breeze in Roswell. It’s one of those days - trails are too wet for mtn biking, river is too low for comfortable rowing, no wind for windsurfing. So it’s either kayaking or laps in the pool. Not bad choices but got me take a peek at efoils.
New Lift3 looks tempting for days like these (especially once the pool closes) but maybe a little steep for a 4th or 5th string back up activity ?

I'm planning on going shopping for towels Saturday morning. Maybe something in Voilet and Turquoise. I think a good time for shopping would be around 9:30 or 10. I don't think there will be many towels left after 1 pm. Some might prefer Voilet and Peach but that combo has been too popular this summer.

Yep, definitely towels and not anything windsport related. Wink
