Wed June 22

For you light air freaks, close to dots tomorrow. Don't think I can make it due to some other commitments.

Every model on PredictWind is showing a breeze for this afternoon. I like those odds and am starting to dry out a bit sooooo….

Temps are in the record territory (98-100 depending on where you check), be careful out there and stay well hydrated. I am heading to higher elevations for some relief - black rock mountain SP, apparently highest elevation state park in GA (3640ft). Temps in high 80s today, going down to mid 70s over the next couple days.?

Tip for staying cool on the water: wear a long sleeve rash guard. Every once in a while, get it wet and it will act like an air conditioner if there is any breeze at all. It's actually pretty easy to get cold doing if it's very windy or temps are lower than the 80s.

I used to see Randy wear a long top on hot days and couldn't figure it out. My dermatologist suggested covering up and, when I did, I was surprised how well it works to stay cool.

The biggest downside of the temps is the reduction in air density. We lose a sail size from winter temps.

Good tips webguy, thanks.
I assume drinking frequently still critical.
For me, high temps and long exposure to sun in the open air - ie lack of shade- gives a dizzy type feeling regardless of how my body feels. I don’t mind my body feeling hot so much as how my head feels. Maybe it’s just me. Going in the woods (hiking or mtn biking) at any temp is no problem. Doing that at 6am like I did today is preferable of course - except for breaking the cob webs when riding the trails as the early bird ?

On the lake, we always have the option of just jumping in to cool off. Smile Or, work on jibes. Same thing... Lol
