Some big rollers in the middle at times. Lots of fun. Invented a couple of new ways to fall today - all involved foiling out mid-jibe. And, yes, the water is still pretty chilly.
Today was a top day! I haven't had that much fun windsurfing in a while! It was great seeing everyone! You guys are awesome! Thank you for the photos Barrett and the foot strap advice!
Stephen, Demetri and I got out on Hartwell a bit over this past long, windy, weekend. Stephen and I on 5.7s, Demetri on a 5.2 - all of us overpowered at some points, but mostly good. This was down near the "Big Water" area of Hartwell just southwest of Sadlers Creek State Park (SC) where we launched (same section of lake immediately NE of, and accessible from, Long Point Rec area on the GA side). As the wind speeds ebbed and flowed, and directions shifted, the lake 'chop' did the same, ranging from steep, nasty "washing machine" type stuff, to a few long period "swells" ... to nothing really notable at all. But good to be on the water for sure. (and water temps, BTW, seem to be around 60F right now)

1) Demetri, behind a nice swell
2) Stephen, buzzing me when I was down
3) Stephen, double-checking the recommended boom length printed on my sail to make sure he's giving my rig atleast a couple extra cm's of clearance as he passes (!!???)
Feeling surprisingly good today but unfortunately can’t make it today.
Y’all enjoy !

I had a good time despite being rather gusty at times
Good turnout.

I rigged a 6.0m sail and had a GREAT time windsurfing (with a fin). Gilmer airport reported gusts of 30 -33 mph from 3 - 4PM.
Here are a couple of photos I snapped of Channey heading in & declaring the day a success.

I bet Channey was flying with that Duotone 6.6.
Very nice sail.

When Channey came in he announced today was his best day ever! That was a lot of sail to hold down.

Wait until he gets his laydown jibes down. Then you can inspect his mast tip as he goes around.
Love the pics! I remember that 5.7. A ton of good memories on that sail.
That swell pushed me a little closer at the last second!! Fun time. Yes William, that sail is still going strong.
