I’m thinking about it, A bit sore from yesterday.
Foiling is definitely easier on your body than windsurfing.

Ok life is back to normal ?
Like I wrote, I am not sure yet. Going to the lake takes a lot of time -as opposed to biking or rowing- and a lot to catch up with work and school and home responsibilities. Will see
Currently hiking by the river and water is high - good for rowing

1pm..thinking Gene must be getting close. You know what that means. Stil some white caps but less…better start sailing before he is here and it’s all over ?

What time did you start? Between 1 & 2, it was very strong at VP. I had to stop twice to increase outhaul and still was sheeting out quite a bit. Decided to come off the water at 2 as all that wore me out - and turned out it seemed to slow down right around then. So i went back in and soon after that saw you. The 2nd session like you said was ‘weird’ - soogging or pumping one minute and then sheeting out on the foil the next minute. The sun was nice but the water is still chilly - I know since I was in it a number of times. Barrett measured it at 50F. Full parking lot when I left and quite a bit boat traffic - is summer here already?

Re: Sun 3/20

Got out around 2p - 5.5 was plenty to start but lots of holes en route to VP. It seemed to really die after I saw you guys so slogged back downwind. New, strong wind lines came from SW then NW with voodoo gusts and shifts. I caught a glimpse of William doing a giant wheelie & crash on the edge of a gust. Then, I felt/heard something odd under me and headed in to find my stab gone- bummer. Later, hanging on the LLSC patio watching William milk the dying breeze, a 30’ sailboat came in close to the point and we realized nobody was steering it! We could see somebody laying in the cockpit, it turns out, sleeping! Despite our yelling to try to wake him, the boat bonked right onto the rocks. He dropped sails and was able back off under power, apparently unscathed. A memorable day. Good

Re: Sun 3/20

Wow, what a day for you Chris. Sorry to hear about your stab. On Sat, I felt some weird vibes coming from my foil at times. Turned out my front wing bolts were fairly loose - while carrying the board out of the water, it was wobbling. Good idea to check all bolts every time.

Glad the sleeping sailor was ok.

Thought William was driving back from FL yesterday - wonder where he launched from or when. I left VP past 3:30 I thought

Re: Sun 3/20

Racing was canceled Sunday due to expected morning rain. We got a good number of races in Saturday so not a hard decision.

The wheelie Chris mentioned was a 30+ gust that literally lifted the board off the water. I didn't even know what was happening at the time. Having been in 30 mile gusts Friday when a squall line came through, it was even more violent.

Bummer for Chris. Sad

Sorry abt the stab! Hope you can find one for a reasonable price - is this the F4? I wonder if mine is the same...

Not F4, Moses. Replacement ordered. Weird that while driving to the lake I flashed on "I haven't checked the mounting screws in a while". The universe was trying to tell me something. Need to listen better. Good

Re: Sun 3/20

More bad news from the weekend. Langdon texted that his house was hit by lightning from the intense Friday thunderstorms. He said there was a lot of damage, but that his insurance company has been responsive.

Wind was good when I first started windsurfing yesterday, Sunday. Then as the air warmed under full sun, lulls began to sweep across the Lake. I'm guessing that the 50ºF water & wavy conditions blocked the warm wind from reaching the surface. Looking upwind to the west, I saw gusts headed my way that never reached me.

Since misery loves company, my day at Galts: I measured solid 15 g 22 when I arrived. Rigged 4.6......this picture tells the story.
