Tuesday SE

Been a while since I sailed Lanier on a SE.
Who’s going?
Where to go?

I am a maybe but, if I go, I imagine VP for me. Having sailed 3 days last week, I might opt for another sport that’s closer to home and takes less time.

In. SE can be fun there this time of year. Doesn't happen often but some good sessions have been had there. Important to get off the beach upwind a ways. The uplift caused by the hill definitely can be felt if you are just cruising just off the beach. Another couple hundred yds/m upwind will feel better.

Re: Tuesday SE

When I'm coming off the water with an 8.0 and Alan is coming off with a 5.5, I did something wrong. Dash 1

Wind was light when I rigged and KGVL was showing 8-10 mid afternoon. I get on the water and it's 14G22. Going upwind was not a problem today. With Chris Pyron, Gene, Z and Alan. Did scoot all the way over to both VP and then Port Royal in the opposite direction. Easy to put on the miles fully powered and relatively flat water.

Should be a busy week.

The parking lot was nearly full when I arrived at noon but then opened up after lunch.
William was right, SE is nice at Vanns tavern once you get out a ways. Good direction to reach up and down the main channel.
