Full IQ kit - board, sail, foil. The "kids" (young men from Clearwater who are both amazingly fast and amazingly nice) were talking Saturday night about stuff and one important thing they said: unlike the RS:X, the IQFoil kit is just plain fun to sail if you are into zippier kit. It's not terribly technical or difficult to sail just because it's race kit. It's like in the days of longboards how much fun and easy an Equipe was to sail so you'd race it one weekend and, the next, take it to Van Pugh on a light 10-15 day for scooting around.

Don't read too much about Britt - he had a comment early on that I think covered at least a couple of us: Looking at the finishing order, it's pretty easy to see who spent time all winter sailing free ride kit. Lol It was my first time jibing the 8.0 in six months and certainly looked it in the first races.

Britt's funniest "webguy" line. Understand that Britt and I have had several conversations in the last few months regarding gear now that I'm a bit lighter; and weight really helps speed in foiling. Saturday night, the PRO (who ran the racing) was talking about windsurfers, etc and said something like: it seems that small guys with a short center of gravity would be favored. Britt who was sitting next to me, turned to me and said, "William, how's that working out for you?" ROFL

Thanks to William for welcoming my Brother & his wife to the Mid-Winter event. They live near Jacksonville & said they much enjoyed watching the foil races.

Re: Midwinters

Found this shot on my phone. Was wondering if my boom was as high as some of the other guys. Looks like it is. Smile
