SadderDay 3/19

Sorry 2 No longboards registered for the MidWinters, so I guess they eliminated that class as an option. Sorry 2 My foil racing skills are not up to the task, so gonna have to suffer through the great day(s?) forecast here for the weekend. Best of luck to webguy (& Langdon?) in the Open Foil division! Get photos of the other rockstars there, please!

NW wind makes Van Pugh the probable call but I'll probably launch from LLSC Saturday as there's a thing going on there. Hope to see yous on the water! Good

I'll miss you, Saturday does look good here. I'll try to remember to take pics although I've always suffered in that department. I'll let you know what things look like from my vantage point (last, further last and dead *ing last) Lol

What’s the location of choice on Sat? LLSC, OF, VP?

I know. I thought IWindsurf is showing SW until late afternoon and windy is showing maybe dead W? Where’s Gene- he has some trigonometric formula about this (Angels of wind and what angle is good where) that I hand never been able to wrap my mind around no matter how many times he explains it to me! ?

Ah. Seeing the new forecast now. West is good at the club but just a few degrees north of west puts the launch in a shadow– Not horrible but less good. I'd extend the invite to the club but it's one of the rare weekends when parking could be dicey. fwiw, I expect a lot of sailboat traffic esp Saturday.

Leaning toward Old Fed but more open to hanging with the group.

I am also thinking OF, especially if my hike/bike schedule (which is still TBD, waiting on some friends who want to join us for one of those on Sat) puts me at the lake earlier in the day

Big sail comes out of the sail bag, small sail goes in. Not a ‘out everything you got in the van’ sailor anymore, so gotta watch for these and take sine chances. If I chose unwisely, I am blaming you Chris (right after Putin) ??

I plan to sail today. Van Pugh will have better wind out in the channel, but the wind is onshore Old Fed. If any sailors go to VP I'll join you there late morning, otherwise I'll go to Old Fed.

Wind is NW at Van Pugh, white- capping. Channey just arrived. Alan & Tony on the way. I’m staying here.

Re: SadderDay 3/19

Overall good day at OF. 70% of the time, 4.7 felt just right. Remaining 30% was split between feeling ‘I could use my 6.4 right now’ and ‘I would be fine-if not better of- with the 3.7 right now’. Windsurfers were outnumbered by wingers - at start, 3 to 1, in the end (when I left around 2), 5 to 4 I think (plus a kiter).

The question of the day is where in the world is Matt Lauer…oops, I meant Langdon Garner? As of 2pm, not spotted at OF and not mentioned as joining VP crowd. New secret launch??

Re: SadderDay 3/19

Barrett, Channey, Zeke and myself at VP.
Wind did not live up to the forecast while I was there but still a okay day. Everyone was using fins and 6.7 to 7.0 sails. Barrett was alternating between fin and foil.

I wonder if William took home the Gold at Midwinters
