If you had that many windfoilers sailing in a confined space it would probably lead to chaos as well. I'm not even sure that is XC - looks like a road covered with snow.

Scenes from huge Swedish race - kind of like Peachtree Road Race. Obviously, not the pointy end of the pack. From reading online comments from skilled XC'ers, that kind of downhill can be terrifying for the less skilled, especially having to ski "classic" (ie non-skating). No pizza, all french fry.
As to my windfoil brethren - scary to be sure but the skilled do just fine. At our skill level, it would be carnage.
Well, at least it wasn't a biathlon otherwise those sound effects might have been real...
