For mere mortals like us who weigh (a tad) over 130lb, I think a better day for Chicopee than Vanns. I know I sound like a broken record and impatience doesn’t pay off and all…but you can’t say I am unpredictable! ?

You have to ask yourself: Will the joy of Chicopee outweigh the crap webguy will fling at me if it turns out to be a stellar day? Lol

Enjoy your ride. (Serioiusly) Good

Well, this punk got mighty lucky - not that the kind of luck we’re talking about is ever needed on the trails- blasting thru Sope Creek trails over lunch. Ready for any crap webguy might throw at me for missing a stellar day at the lake.? Hope it is stellar for those who try their luck (seriously)!. I don’t know about the lake but there was decent breeze and gusts at Sope creek Marietta - so hopefully a good day for all

You might have made the right call Hamdi.

But the clouds are coming to Oakwood so we will see what happens in the next hour or so

Got to MAP early. sub 10 to very low teens most of the time. Seemed to die by 11 (my windmeter showing 5-7 at best). It may come back, but I got tired of waiting.

Hamdi, you got lucky, PUNK! Biggrin

Not much wind and the best of it was while we were rigging.

Used the new Phantom foil sail and it was like

Hit 19+ mph without a breath of a white cap. It was a bit of a PITA to rig the first time but absolutely made up for it in the air.

Oh wow, good for you webguy!
I am not going to call you though - don’t want to have another phone conversation that would lead to yet another sail purchase. It is good for me to keep some sail envy going regardless of how many i have already purchased.

How did you do with your FG7? Sounds like webguy’s new 7 was a great success.

Re: Wednesday Afternoon Vanns Tavern

I did not do as good as Webguy, but not knocking the FG2 any.
More likely it deals more that I weigh 1.5 webguys and have .3 of the skill while the wind being sub 10mph was not helping.
I have done quite a few low wind attempts to foil and I have seen Webguy fly past me on many of those. Kinda use to it.

But yesterday was different
I was about 50 yards behind and upwind of William when a puff about equal to a seagull fart came across the lake.
I went to pumping and ... naaa.

I look to see how Webguy did and he was gone.

Once up that Phanton Iris is a very efficient sail. This summer should be good for Webguy.

Yeah, I hear you…isn’t it most annoying when people with 30+ yrs experience also are skinny and get great equipment? ? ?

Working from home for 2 yrs and counting has been great …except for my waistline. We walk the dog every morning for an hour plus and I almost always do something else later in the day (mtn bike, row, sail, kayak or SUP) but activity is no match for working on the computer with my kitchen steps away. We’re heading to UT for a 2 week ski trip soon - hopefully skiing all day for 2 weeks instead of munching while sitting at my desk will do me some good.
