With the high breaking 50F & more west wind, please post if you plan on sailing this afternoon at Van Pugh. I’m eager to go, but don’t want to sail alone.
I know this doesn’t exactly help with Barrett’s inquiry but it’s all I can say at this point- I am considering going but need to see how work goes the next few hrs
Gene, why didn’t you wait a little and say hi when you came by VP today. I know you were here at about 2:45 as I went from fully powered with 5.7 and small wing to ‘do I feel like changing to larger wing and 6.4 or 7.6 sail.
Fun 45min, bopping up & down 15min, time to call it a day - thanks Gene!
It was just 3 Amigos this warm, sunny afternoon at VP. Hamdi & William foiled. I windsurfed a short time, but all those whitecaps suddenly diminished, so I returned to shore & converted to foiling with a 6.0m sail. Channey arrived too late to sail, but in time to show off his new 8M sail.

Another sail for Channey?! I don’t know if there are many sail shops with more sails than Channey! That must be why he is arriving late to the launch (when I ran into him at Skyline bridge, he has arrived right after a dozen sailors have all gotten off the water at once due to wind dying) - taking too long to figure out which sails to load in his truck! ?

I remember more than once being on the phone with someone talking them down from buying yet another sail. Who could that have been? Any ideas?
Channey's biggest challenge is that his work schedule doesn't give him a lot of time to windsurf. (A man's gotta do what he's gotta do.) The less you sail, the more gear you buy. When you sail a lot, you can get by with like two sails. But, when you aren't sailing, you figure, "Yeah, I need a 3.7 for that one day in five years it blows really hard here." I know. That's how I ended up with a bunch of ridiculous stuff.
Having said that, the latest sail is a beauty and really good fit for him and his gear. I imagine he'll end up getting a lot of use from it. And, I agree. I think I've been to shops in OBX that had less gear.
No idea who you talked down from buying more sails. My last phone call with you led to me getting on a wait list at NB for yet another sail! ? Not complaining - on the contrary appreciate all the guidance- , just stating data as a data-driven guy working on his data-science MS.
For the record, I fully appreciate Channey’s position with work (though my current circumstance at work is the opposite, I have been in his shoes until the last 3 yrs in my career). And very glad that his new sail is such a good fit for him. Congrats!

1:30ish? If it's light, all the better as I have a new toy to unbag.
Do tell. Inquiring minds and all.
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Inquiring minds…but not inquiring enough to make the trip to VP see first hand?
Sorry, need to know basis and all that.
I'll take a pic if I use it today.
Heading up to VP, have a conf call to attend first when I get there
I'll just wait until the story breaks on the National Enquirer.

12:45 VP live - lots of white caps. Unless it dives down, maybe another day for unpacking secret ultra-light wind gear
