Great new Wind/Water/Kite Sports.....

only half a century old. All I can say for some of these is "What could possibly go wrong?" I kind of like the one where tie a big kite to the ground let it lift you 15 feet or so. The ones that require a speed boat to tow you don't work for me. Maybe I could get an accomplished foiler or drone to pull me though.(The bummer of this is that I'm old enough remember seeing snippets of this stuff before.)

The rigid waterskiing kites - thank heavens that trend lived and died before instagram. We did enough damage with the inflatable versions. Surprised they didn't include these in the video

"In July 2006, 84 injuries were reported and three deaths occurred within a 4 month period. It soon became illegal to use the Manta in most parts of the US and Canada. Other places that still allowed the device would release all liability of injuries caused by using the tube."

Wild and wacky ancestors pressing forward - haha. We are so lucky to have our current foils, sails, kites, and wings. The "consumer available" kits created since just 2000 are so awesome! I'm super grateful for the innovators, engineers, entrepreneurs, and test pilots for creating what I, my friends, and my kids get to ride. Now if we could only formalize the household budget category for all this.

Despite being tempted, I owe my life to a modicum of restraint & not participating over the years in these high-fatality aerial water sports.
