I hope surface temps fluctuate greatly on a daily basis. This map says Lanier is below 40 degrees around old Federal and north.

Probably even matters what time of day the scan is made if it's catching surface temps. Shallow spots and where creeks run in would, I'd think, be highly variable and the latest scan was taken the day after the freeze and snow.

Seems surprising to me. I don't recall the team measured at the dam ever being below 44. This has been a very mild winter. We had a heat wave at the end of December. (I know all of this is easy for me to say, having stuck with Terrestrial Wind Sports lately.)
