Tomorrow - Sat 1/16 West Point?

Looks like a nice east session with warmer temps than Lanier (54 vs 45) Rain shouldn't move in until the end of the day.

Anyone interested? Great place to wire those jibes as the water tends to be flatter than Lanier.

I'm holding out for Sunday. Looks like good wind at Lanier. Just need the water to warm to around 85º and I'll be set! Good
On the subject of ice, our old Ice Man* 'regatta' was traditionally the first weekend in January with temps north of 50º and some kind of useable wind. It can be anything we choose – longbored race, foil there-and-back, shortboard jumping contest or whatever. Anybody up for this?

*"Ice Person" if any Bettys show up!

In for "Iceman". Temps preferably 45 and up.

As for Sunday, sorry, no can do. I have to get my hair done. Or clean my room. Or something. Anything else, really.

I need to sail. I’d be in for any windsurfing activity this long weekend.

And on West Point

I was at there this morning, Lake is down about 5ft so be careful and stay a good 40 yards away from the markers.

Still chewing it over. WP is just right on the edge of a comfortable wind forecast. The attraction of 54 over 45 is tantalizing but getting there and staring at not enough wind (which I've done before) really sucks. But then, we've done that driving all the way to FL so...

Chewed it over. Forecast is too marginal for Lagrange. I'm seeing what my motivation is for going up to Vann's this afternoon. Forecast shows breeze all afternoon so no harm in waiting a bit.

I will arrive at Vanns around 1:45 -2:00.
Not positive if I will sail or not. But got to check it out

Edit
At Vanns 1:45. Not many caps. Puffs coming thru.
43 Degrees.
Lots of cars but I do not see anyone.
Not rigging yet.

Edit
2:30
Maybe less wind now
43 degrees
Puffs are further apart.
Not rigging
More bass boat traffic than I would have thought.

Going home

I think that's a room in windsurfer hell Diablo : 43 degrees and cloudy, not quite enough wind, cold hands and feet; and bass boats zipping by.

Edit - the wife swung by Vanns just now

Going home

I noticed this morning that the parking lot at MAP was quite full, apparently lots of fishermen out there. I wonder if there is some kind of fishing contest or something going on this time of year. Seems like pretty miserable weather to just sit in a cold, wet boat. Some might say the same thing about windsports, but the energy you are expending keeps you much warmer.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
