I think I jinxed us at Old Federal. Not much wind to start and then came up to 10 to 20+. Randy was foiling around on his 4.7, then I posted. I pumped up my wing and when I went out, it immediately dropped down to probably 5 to 10 with a few 15s. Randy still was able to get some rides, but I got nothing but cold.

PS - I swear I did clock a gust of 19.4 MPH on the beach.
You know where there was wind... A touch SW but once out in the channel, it was brrrisk.
Tony, Barrett, Rhett, Eric and I. 7 to 6.7. No lack of power. A 5.4 would have been a better choice but I stuck with the bigger sail. Barrett swapped the foil for a fin. Everyone else foiled. Eric had his drone out. Pics on the way.
Great Pics! Saw Eric's video of William foiling - really good. I second William's report - the wind at Van Pugh was really good away from shore. It was always blowing, but the direction varied from WSW to NW. Sometimes it blew right into the cove, then it shifted to out in the channel.
I measured the water temperature at 62ºF, a lot warmer than the 54ºF air temp.
Great drone skills by Eric. It's amazing he was over a half mile from us when he took this.
Apologies to the high flyer crowd. I was a bit bouncy that day flying a smaller wing than usual and had trouble in lighter wind getting it balanced. In the puffs, though, it was better and was able to stay clear.
Tony looking great. Hard to believe that just a year ago he was a surfer getting trashed every session at old fed and washing up in the back bay. He's come a long way.
I'm going to the windy spot (VP) after lunch.
Good.....
reminds me of a joke:
Where're you sailing today?
Depends, where's Gene sailing?

I'm also sailing this afternoon at Van Pugh - better wind.

Gene effect seems to be working. Looks like 12-18 upwind.
Same at old federal except on shore wind, clocked a gust of 19.4 mph.

I'm going to blow up that top pic, put it above my mantle and retire. There's nothing left for me to do.
Thanks, Eric. My family thought it was cool.

Rhett got in a couple of hours today on the foil. Since Friday, we've had as many foilable days as July and August put together.
Video finally ready:

Sweet! So good. And the whole lake to yourselves. Awesome
Fantastic flying by all 3 of ya!

Again, big thanks to Eric
