I am planning on getting there around 2:15pm. Be fun to practice trying to get on foil in light winds. Be great to try a practice race course. See you after lunch.
I'm facing a dilemma. NWS says there are more dots at McCollum than Gilmer (5 to1). They say "5-10 w g to 15" at McCollum but "5" a Gilmer in the text forecasts. So if I believe the science (at least the NOAA Cat's version) then I go to Galts. But I believe history and if I want to watch race practice to inform my Fall Race Fantasy team selections, I go to VP (and see how the Foilsport 1% lives.) It would be so nice to be in two places at once. Speaking of cats, this kind of reminds me of the Schrodinger's Cat experiment we did in Physics lab. It was designed to see if a cat could be in two places at once (either inside a box, or in cat heaven.) Picture of the only survivor below.

The cat lived to foil today. Not much wind at first but freshened to a solid 10-15. Neil, Rhett and I were out and Richard joined us late. Gene came by but chose poorly and went back home.
Put a thicker shim in my ++ fuse and it calmed down considerably.
Wow…the racing thing is no joke. Trying to hammer upwind for long periods of time is exhausting without a harness. Also my ability to Make upwind progress in 7/8k was very difficult. In wind that light I was forced to veer off downwind to stay on foil in the lulls, so whatever progress I was making was flush down the toilet during the lulls. All that said, it was exciting trying to catch William, impossible but exciting!! LOL
Wind ended up being really solid around 3:30. Rich had an awesome first try with the Wing. He’ll be on foil in a few sessions.

They flipped the lakecam around to watch the install of the new courtesy dock. It's showing some frisky east wind this a.m. https://www.llsc.com/webcam
It was great to see Neil, William and Rhett. Thank you Neil for the Winging lesson/sharing! I did go very late and the forecast held, it's cool to arrive and see the foilers way far away (all over the lake) in a moderate wind. Before one other VP visit a week ago, I had not been there in a long time - good to be back and see the winging/windsurf foil progression. Anytime spent riding on the lake makes me happy :- ).

It was, in fact, pretty windy this am at least at MAP from around 10-11:30. Started out pretty windless, so I windfoiled 7.0 but soon was over powered so quickly rigged down to 5.5, which was about right. The wind dropped back, but by noon, nothing flyable for me at least. The G-ville readings (15-21) seemed about right (except for the 28g at noon.)
Yesteray at Galts seemed about the same as a VP, lots of high single digit with gusts in the teens. Sailed 7.0 on my Bic though probably more than flyable on my windfoil board a lot of the time.

BTW - I think tomorrow's easterly early is a better bet. Only problem is temp may start out<50.
