Today 10/28 ???????

It is really blowing at my house, Gilmer wind readings are down, temperature is low 50s, cloudy but no rain at the moment. and it is really blowing. The NWS is predicting 17 G28 from the east. Anybody thinking about going today, where (Vanns Tavern or maybe Van Pugh) and what time?

Also, west wind the rest of the week, Fri, Sat and Sun.

Gene

PS I'm thinking Vanns Tavern after lunch? and it is really blowing.

I can go if the rain moves through.

Vanns Tavern around 2.00. ( when the wind starts dropping). Bring raincoats, warm clothes/wetsuit, and small sails. Langdon plans to join me,. Barrett?

Report, Vanns,, 2.00, not too cold, 53 degrees. Not too rainy. But Not too windy, I think I jinxed us, barely capping, maybe 8 to 15.

It was windier than that earlier in the morning, but Gilmer wasn't reporting wind for a while. I've noticed lately they seem to be over-predicting rain as well.

It turned out there was wind outside a wind shadow along shore. Light rain & mist hid the whitecaps from view. The wind lasted about an hour.

I went to try out my new RRD 120 liter board. Other than color, It's a lot like my favorite 122L board, but has a foil-ready Deep Tuttle fin box. (New board is in photo.)

Langdon foiled until a bolt failed, causing Langdon to attempt a self-rescue. Both Gene & I tried to windsurf - tow him in. But ultimately Langdon swam his gear to shore.
