Local slang - name a few

Trying to gather a list of local/general windsurfing slang for newcomers. I'll be posting these eventually to the wiki.

Here's a few
Dome Effect
East Wind
WeatherCat
Dots
TOW
shlogging
BAF/mowing the lawn
Euro/GFS

what else?

I'm puzzled by East Wind - doesn't seem like slang. Here's some that come to mind.

Bozo Island
The Baby Pool
The Weather Talker (though nobody calls him anymore)
WC (though it has kind of moved into irrelevance)
COE or the Corp (people really new might not know this)
MAP
VP
Old Fed
Old 41
Vann's
NWS or NOAA Model.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

I was definitely confused what ‘Dots’ meant early on.

Also:

Caps (or capping)

Just to be a stickler, the Corps prefers the acronym USACE now, but a lot of people still use COE or ACOE.

I was thinking of the poor souls who roll up to Vanns just after lunch when we are starting to pack up our stuff but I get your point.

Other suggestions?

I always thought Gene's description a few years ago of "It was a hard wind" was a good turn of a phrase.
Chris V reminds me that "Monkey humping" is a thing, too. Biggrin

T.C., always a way with words, watching the Olympics a few years back and lamenting the lack of appeal to viewers- "They are pumpin' like humpin' monkees". Sad

Recommend this helmet then - better visibility. Safety first!
