Are you going to be tempted by the wing? Have fun down there.

Re: Huguenot

Maybe a midweek camping trip for 2 or 3 nights, and maybe a group winging lesson.

Re: Huguenot

Did the guy in the picture used to be Dasher? He's got the same board as me. I'm think the solution to a lot of our problems this time of year (and every other time of year) is the black and blue board in front......Probably costs less than all the stuff we get and all the trips we take trying to buy wind. You had me at ‘camping’ - tell me where And when and I am there - unless I am camping elsewhere. Currently at Altoona (red top mtn) - no wind but no shortage of options for other activities.

Re: Huguenot

Yep that was the famous Dasher, I was windsurfing with royalty today.
Lots of wind plus I’m the proud owner of a new to me Equipe XR 2, ready to race!

No group lessons but he will do a mid week clinic.
Here’s his contact info.

Electric board was $12,000, when they come down to $999 I’ll consider one.
Interesting how they design them, electronics under the hood are water cooled.
I was surprised it had to be registered like a boat.

Re: Huguenot

Not only the price but they weigh a lot. Like 80 pounds or more. Not sure I could carry one that heavy.

Yeah he carried the board to the water then went back and got the battery.

Re: Huguenot

If you have never been to Hanna Park you should go. I recommend weekdays, weekends are a bit of a zoo here.
They have around 2 miles of beach access with good surf. A few nice lakes for Kayaking, ~ 20miles of trails for mountain biking and hiking, Disc Golf course and its convenient to Jacksonville restaurants and attractions. The park is huge, around 300 flat and shaded campsites $20 to $30/night. A short ferry ride or 40 min drive will get you to Huguenot Park if you had rather windsurf in the protected St George inlet.

I'm so glad we have club members who can take a decent picture. If it was left to me, the whole web site would be a wall of boring, wordy text.
