Rhett reported he got the last parking 10AM at VP. He had a good AM foiling session. I’m surprised. There was no wind here in ATL & storms moved in early.
I got out for bit on the sailboat, it was capping in the main channel, fun day!
Boat looks nice Clayton.
That 3rd stay to the right of the winch, is that adjustable, used like a back stay?
Thanks
Yeah those are adjustable aft lower shrouds, you use them in tandem with the adjustable 8:1 backstay to either depower the rig or frac the rig forward when sailing downwind. I usually just set it and forget it, but if I get into Wednesday night racing, I guess I’ll have to start messing with it.
For only 20 ft, this boat has a lot of strings to pull
While looking on the radar noticed Lagrange was showing 13 so took a flyer and went down to west point. First couple of hours there wasn't enough to get up but as the afternoon went on, it got better and was pretty solid the last hour and made a good handful of foiling jibes even.
Almost no boat traffic and what boats there were were small so no problems. Got a decent parking space, rigged on the grass and the water is up so easy launch.
Waited too long. Lightning on the way and I'm still in Atlanta. crap...
I think it will pass and stay breezy. Sadly I can't go but I'm hopeful for tomorrow!
