Edit: Decided to delete the video because Gene (see comment below) is correct. We shouldn't glorify or condone behaviour that could either a) get someone seriously hurt who isn't a participant and b) endanger our access to a wonderful place to kite.
It's an impressive feat but sometimes you just gotta take the long view and say, "That really isn't a good idea even if it looks like fun."
NOT Cool. That could get Kiting banned from Howard Park. In the early days of kiting, kiteboarding WAS banned from Howard Park because a kiter dropped a kite on some sunbathers. Howard Park was where the windsurfers sailed and kiters could only launch for Sunset Beach Park. (there are only 2 public access beaches in Tarpon Springs, Howard and Sunset parks.) For a period of time, about a year, while the causeway to Howard park was being repaired, Howard park was closed and the windsurfers and kiters both used Sunset Beach Park. Then when Howard park reopened, the windsurfers and the kiters returned to Howard park. It does get busy on a good day at both parks with Windsurfers, Kiters and now Wingers, we need to not screw things up.
The kiter in the video should be Banned from Howard Park.
