Lake Norman, NC

Anyone has sailed there by any chance or know anyone who might have? If so, any suggestions, cautions, etc.? Primarily wondering about launch sites, with preference towards the state park but open to other locations.
Will be camping there in a little over a week and, obviously early to count on wind FX but, at the moment, showing usable wind. Apparently the state park also has 30 miles of mtn bike trails and lake is good for kayaking - so, might be full load of toys going this trip ?

I’ve been to a few sailboat regattas there, I remember it being shallow a good ways out from the shore at Lake Norman yacht club.

Also have ridden the Itusi trails at Lake Norman State Park. Very good trail system, one of my favorites. Lots of flow, very well laid out and well maintained.
If you want to get your wife into MTB biking the Monbo loop is really smooth and easy.

From what I remember there is somewhat limited access for windsurfing. There’s a shop in Mooresville that could probably give you up to date info though.

Don’t forget your Trump and NASCAR flags.

All those spots were collected from the Charlotte web group (RIP) and their FB group https://www.facebook.com/groups/455495331718801 they should be good.

They are pretty good about posting sessions on FB

Thank you all for your response and insights. Wind forecast isn’t looking too promising right now but I am prepared for all contingencies - no shortage of toys going with us; too many toys, too little time.

Big shout out to Langdon for helping with - ok, making the whole- bike rack holder for the trailer; fit and finish are excellent!
