Reggae Regatta ~ June, 5-6

Any interest in getting in on this event at LLSC? We'd race on the dinghy course and have our own start if there are 5+ entries. The Reggae is an open event meaning open to non-members and all kinds of boats. Not sure there will be meals or party etc but camping will be open to anyone sailing. Long boards are the usual choice unless you are William... Might be some wind but we could do some serious hanging out either way. Reply here, s.v.p.

+1 Longboard or that other short thing in my truck. Not interested in the hardware, just would want to push my foil abilities as I lack longboard skills.

Now I need to go practice timing my starts...

I would be interested if I can find a longboard.
Is the dingy race a Portsmouth?

I think I have an Equipe or S2 you can use.

There will probably be Laser, Flying Scot, Thistle, A-cat etc on separate starts* plus Portsmouth for less than 5-of-type others.

*occasionally some of these are combined like Scots + Thistles or A-cat + Nacras

Ditto, have a spare longboard for qualified users (ie you aren't going to trash the fin). Biggrin

I’m interested as well. I also have an extra longboard (Mega Cat) to loan if needed.

Registered, Foil if there wind, could use a loaner longboard if it’s light.

Hopefully Langdon will come and offset Williams wind curse.

PHRF & Cruisers $10
Dinghies, Cats $10
Junior Boats – 420, Laser, Opti $5
Green Fleet - Free

What is the green fleet, Spectators?

The forecast for Saturday looks pretty sucky. Sunday- slightly less so. I’m still planning to go for the weekend, possibly camping at the club. Re racing- If it’s not fun, I’m not doing it. Good

I'm going up there in the morning to rig and be ready to answer the bell if it seems interesting enough. Alan bailed for the coast and prospect of wind. We are not camping, but will leave WS gear there ready for Sunday. Good

Re: Reggae Regatta ~ June, 5-6

I was a no-show as we have guests up at the lake this weekend and the view from the dock indicated I wasn't missing much if at all. I'll come by Sunday to hope that the SE 3-7 turns into SW 10-15 somehow magically.

Hope it's a good time for those who did show up.

Re: Reggae Regatta ~ June, 5-6

Good call Webster, but we had a surprisingly good time. Just enough wind to get 2 races that made us think strategery and all that.
Sunday: more of the same light wind only more "tactical" (big holes and shifts and pumping). Still, John, Eric & I agreed it was fun. Had to pay attention and it paid off if you did. Good

Re: Reggae Regatta ~ June, 5-6

Glad to hear it was fun and the racing good. Sorry to have missed it. It turned out to be one of those weekends where it was better to sacrifice a bit of windsurfing in return for family time. Looking forward to the next opportunity to come in last... Biggrin
