Clouds of bugs
The bugs in Michigan’s U.P. Are legendary. On US-2 along Lake Michigan’s north shore today, we saw clouds of them like smoke, with obese swallows swooping through gorging themselves. Dirtiest windshield ever! pic.twitter.com/KfuxdkNNjO

That’s where my mother-in-law lives. They call them bay flies and there are so many out in May you can easily suck one in your nose or mouth just breathing. That was the only month where the bugs were that bad. Very pretty. Cold water. We joke that the bay might melt by July. Pictures are various states of the bay and an unusual April snow storm.
Here in Florida we have “love bugs” that fly in tandem. Dragon flies eat them and birds etc in turn eat the “Dragon flies “ in only a couple of days. Keep your mouth closed while watersporting or you might eat one of them while planing to your hearts content
Toolman,
We need to come down and sail with you this year sometime.
