I am thinking Saturday morning at Vanns.
The rainfall amounts for tomorrow's forecast have been decreasing in the last 12 hrs.
( forcast subject to change if WeatherCat's view on life or my happiness changes )
If there’s no thunder or downpour rain and if the wind FX holds, I also intend to be at Vans Sat am, OF or VP Sun.
I think I will have to use my GPS to figure out the way... feels so long since I’ve been on the water. Another week or two of this wind drought (or whatever else this is called) and my feelings about this sport would match that for skiing - I have a blast when I get to the slopes but those are so far and few between since I moved to ATL 12 yrs ago (4-5 days/yr) that, for the most part, ‘out of sight, out of mind’ (and expensive equipment collecting dust).
On the flip side, weather has been great for biking, rowing, hiking - lots of those thankfully.

I windsurfed infrequently when the kids were young. But as soon as I got back on a board and it went from displacement to zoom mode, I thought: Oh yeah, THIS is why.

Sure, I hear you. That’s the same way I feel every time I go skiing and take my first run especially through trees with deep powder - nothing like it. Start thinking ‘I got to do this more’, maybe revisit that old thought about a slope side condo, wonder ‘can I retire yet?’,...Then, we get back to Hotlanta and in 2 days with some biking /rowing/hiking, and skiing doesn’t even cross my mind.
Windsurfing once a week or so keeps me checking forecast daily for the next opening...But, put in a gap of a few weeks full of other activity that I also enjoy and I start approaching that ‘happens when it happens’ state and then it’s close to how I feel /switch about skiing. That’s all I am saying - nothing about the fun of it when the conditions are right,
Luckily Gene was nice enough to let me and Howard try out his laser and C15 last week. It’s been a while since I’ve sailed a dingy and both are a lot of fun even in wind too light to foil in.
We all need to schedule a beach day and meet up for some grilling and just hanging out soon.
I was kind of kidding, I dont think I've ever sailed 2 different launchs in one day, although I've probably driven to 2 or more places. but, Old Federal would be on my way home. So, maybe?
Edit - Then Old Federal early Sunday to get a parking spot, bring lunch and make a day of it.

I actually have sailed 2 different places in one day - that was at OBX, half day finning from the air BNB and half day foiling at Canadian Hole (if you called what I did foiling over a year ago) but that was in my younger days...no such energy anymore ?
9:30 Vans live: no white caps but decent breeze. No rain but cloudy. 7.6 would work for sure, 6.4 maybe- I will go with maybe and hope won’t need to rig twice
Forgot best part - no boats at the moment and empty parking lot

Plan for today? Looks like wind starts south east, rain comes around lunch, then wind turns through south to south west later. So....
Vanns this morning, bring lunch, then hit Old Federal on the way home?
Vanns Tavern this morning, hopefully by 10.00.

Vanns by 10, one place a day for me- we can’t all be Gene’s!

Wind and kitefoils tomorrow at Old Fed. Avoid the Aqualand and Flowery Branch flotilla
I’ll be at LLSC by around noon. Gate: #3975
Thanks Chris! I'll be at LLSC around noon, (instead of Old Fed by 10.00 to get a parking space.)

Yes thanks to Chris for inviting us.
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Best wind of the day was as we were packing up- solid wind as far as we could see. Oh well.
Two women came by the beach later and said something like "You guys are SO cool!"
They got this photo of Clayton from the clubhouse:
