Should be a good one.
Riff raff had to leave early due to family needs. Hope you guys had good winds afterwards!
Thanks - patchy at times. Great at others. I foiled my butt off with a small sail. Fin guys were using 7.0-7.8s while Rhett, Chris and I used from 4.7 to 5.2 ish. Lack of traffic made the water nice. Sorry I missed you guys on the water - forgot my booties and lost a half hour going back to get them. At least I remembered before hitting the Perimeter.
Is any of this for real? The bold part covers the time I was a MAP. I don't think it was gusting to the 30's ether then or later, given some of the bigger sails in use. I was guessing 8-18 maybe. I did manage to get up on the foil (and back down again rather quickly and unceremoniously) a couple of times with my 5m wing. I was surprised it didn't seem to take that much wind (15ish gust?) or effort to get up. The effort was required getting back on the board. Reminded me of my first few months (ok years) windsurfing. Anyway, after more swimming than flying I had as much fun as I could stand.....for today.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
It's odd because Gilmer used to always report less than actual East winds. Now it seems like more than actual, though I noticed Buford dam had some pretty high readings too.

I’d be interested in kiting tomorrow at Vanns. I could be there around 10a at earliest.
Oh it’s east, I open to either.

what time is early? I can move things around to line up.
I am hoping to get to Vanns mid afternoon, barring a work emergency
Decisions, decisions. Go to the good launch and deal with the riff-raff or sail out of Van Pugh and deal with the big hole in the middle of the lake.
Riff-raff it is. Late morning/noon for me.
A better sort of Riff-raff

Who are calling a big hole?

I plan to sail Monday & join the party at Vanns. Aiming for late morning to mid-day if Fx holds.

Congratulations on your 1st wing flights Randy that’s awesome.
My guesstimate for Lanier would be gust in the low 20’s at best, I never felt overpowered on the 7.3.

The kiters were the first to arrive at Vanns Tavern and before heading out, I snapped these photos. Howard & I were the early bird windsurfers.
