Patience

Those who know me even a little would probably know that patience is not my strong suite. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with Langdon being an 11), I am at best a 2.

Well, I gave it a try today -mostly because the sun felt so good that I didn’t mind bobbing around for 45min- and man was it worth it. Wind came up strong and steady and ended up foiling for another 2+hrs in one of the best conditions i have experienced. Many long (~1mi) fetches often with one hand on the boom (plus harness) and no swimming in 3 hrs total.?

Conditions looking great in Pensacola bay the rest of the week and may not even need patience the next couple days. If you have the chance, zip over.

Re: Patience

I think Amy and I are coming down to Pensacola/Destin area Saturday .
Still might go to Tampa but I think a shorter drive to Destin makes more sense for her

Hamdi.
I need launch locations please

I am 100% in agreement with Amy and wish I could stay longer to join you.

My favorite places for foiling are:
Navarre beach marine park in Navarre
Shoreline park in Gulf breeze

The former is ~20min closer to Destin, which is a big plus if you’re staying in Destin as I often do. For that reason, frankly I have been going there for most any wind direction, though South isn’t best for it. It has picnic tables, showers, bathrooms.

Shoreline park is the opposite shore of the bay, so best for anything except for too much North. It also has showers, picnic tables, etc. You rig on sand next to the beach whereas in Navarre, I rig on the wood path that goes from parking lot to the beach.

In Navarre, there seems to be a park on the opposite shore from the Marine park (for South winds) but I never tried it.

If you were finning, many places closer to Destin including Okaloosa national seashore (very popular with liters and some foil, i think with short mast and staying in the boat channel maybe?).

Call me if you’d like more info. I don’t eat out (COVID) but there’s plenty of restaurants and Whole Foods is good for to go stuff.
