Windsurfing the smoothest water you will ever see

Lake George, Australia. About knee to chest deep with long weeds which release an oil that smooths the water.

Freaky. I wonder if the oil reduces drag. Doesn't look "foil friendly", but I guess waves don't matter when on a foil.

Looks like inches deep to the top of those weeds. I bet they induce a lot of drag.

They use really shallow weedies. Like 17-24cm. Look up Fangy Fins on seabreeze - cast aluminum to resist wear from gliding over the weeds. The weeds are growing up from the bottom rather than clumping on top like at OBX - as best as I understand.

Here's something in G-10

The vid said "very little wind" but that can mean different things to different people. Looks like they were going really fast, so probably what we could consider "a good amount of wind." A place like that could be difficult to judge the wind because we normally look at the water for clues. That's one of the things that makes land based windsport difficult at times - no white caps or dark water unless I'm at a lakeside place like MAP. Of course, you can change a kite a lot quicker on land than change a sail at the lake.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

If i sailed there, I'd own nothing but slalom boards and sails. Lock and load.
