Anybody up for trying these gloves?

"Marigold gloves" - look like heavy duty dish washers. The Brits were talking about them on FB

https://www.amazon.com/Ansell-Marigold-Industrial-Chemical-Resistant/dp/B08H2JTYPL/ref=sr_1_12

edit: most tuck them into the wetsuit. some put them over and the the palmless mittens go over as a wind break. Not necessary to stick your fingers into the mittens... allegedly.

No, but these are best we have tried. When kiting forearm fatigue because of thick mittens is brutal.

They are fishing gloves and only 2mm but extremely warm. I wear mittens only sub 42. Above 42 I go for these. I rather be a bit cold in these than toasty in the mittens bc of the forearm pains. I saw a ton of recommendations for these gloves from guys kiting in NYC and Boston and gave them a shot. You can find them on sale for 20-25 bucks.

Fleece lined is a deal breaker for me and a lot of pole dancers. We need the friction of our hands to hold on to the boom. That's why we use perfectly good mittens with the palms cut out. Lol Fleece, neoprene, almost anything that permits the least amount of slip causes our forearms to cramp. I think the bigger diameter of our boom vs a bar probably explains why they work well for you.

I have heard good things about some pricey NP and ION gloves because the neoprene is super soft and grippy. But they are like $60 a pop. Maybe next fall.

Edit: I think these are the ones: https://www.nykitecenter.com/collections/np/products/np-glove-5-finger-3mm

Re: Anybody up for trying these gloves?

I recall trying various heavy duty gloves like the ones listed in the o.p. Didn't use them for long - i think they too stiff and once your hands get wet it doesn't make much difference. Open palm was always my first choice, but I often used medical exam gloves underneath to keep the wind off a little.

BTW - I wonder if wingers find open palm may not be as necessary because their handles are smaller than windsurf booms and they could be easier to grip? I recall Neal was looking at some open palm gloves, though, but I'm not sure if he tried anything else before that.

While we are on gloves.

Has anyone tried somebody thinner precurved mittens? I think these are like the discontinued DaKine 2mm mittens. Kokatat Inferno Mitt Neoprene Kayak Gloves?

I have tried them all and hate them all.
Probably the ones I hate the least are the open palm mitts.

Ion makes really good stuff.

I take that back, I haven’t tried lobster mittens yet.
