Some wind on Sat, decent wind on Sunday.
Just an fyi, two decent sized "fun" sailing events will be on the water Saturday. One group is having a Poker Run and the other doing a Sunrise Cove/Dam run and back. Say hello to our fellow windsporters riding in sailboats. Smile and wave as you pass them and maybe some will be seduced by our good lucks looks and speed.

Happy New Years Eve,
Heavy rain is expected starting around 10:00 tomorrow, Friday....but prior to, it looks to be windy. I think North, NorthEast. Anybody thinking about going? Where would we launch if we wanted to run with the sailboats? Wishing everyone a safe & happy New Year.
PS: I would like to downsize my Wing Board. It has been absolutely perfect to learn on. Easy to pop up on foil and very stable for knee starts and even stand up starts. It's the Fanatic Sky SUP 6'7" x 125L. I paid about $1,200. Looking for $825. It has tons of scratches, but never a ding needing repair. It's also SUP Foilable. Board Only.
I helped Neil downsize...
Saturday seems to be fading but Sun and Monday look rocking. Tomorrow? Who knows with the timing of the rain bands and what wind follows behind.
If kiting is the dark side would winging be considered the shady side?

I hope to be there Sunday
Sunday is looking good for me. I'll be looking for Webguy winging.
Barrett
Webguy's escapades are waiting for a bit warmer weather plus some equipment to arrive. Sorry to spoil the fun. I will be making an appearance Sunday, hopefully in regular regalia.
Aiming for 1pm. Hoping the sun can at least warm things a bit first.
Sun 1/3 11am, VT live: white caps, sunny. Parking lot busy, wedding in progress
Gee - January 3, wind chill of 37. Perfect day to get married outdoors at the lake......Must be the groom wants to go foiling after the ceremony is over. Probably one of our members. Anybody know him?
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Bless them for having it outside and not risking any of their family members. At least this way, the wedding party has a decent chance of celebrating the first anniversary/
Nice day, well, nice breeze. It was 48 in Atlanta when I left so I was optimistic. 44 when I arrived. 42 when I left which explains the poor relationship my fingers have with the rest of my body. They are still pissed off.

No sign of the bride, groom, mother-in-law and any others from the wedding party.
Barrett will be posting a family pic later on hopefully.

Here’s the excellent photo Barrett took of us.
Chris P must have still been on the water or didn’t want to risk getting Covid.
We told Ed this was a G rated photo but he wouldn’t listen.

Sunday exceeded expectations with a great start, a mid-day lull and a strong finish. When the wind ramped up in the afternoon, I wondered why my hands were getting cold and discovered the air temp had dropped to 39ºF. I then checked the water temp and it was down to 50ºF. Despite the cold, it was a fun day.
Here is the group photo, posted above, with everyone's eyes open.
Roland showing off his wing as wings join sails in the rigging area.
Car thermometer as I crank the heater on full.
After driving home looking into the sun on I-85, I was treated to a beautiful sunset, followed by this amazing twilight sky over our house in Decatur. (Photo taken with a short time exposure looking toward the constellation Orion.)

Barrett,
Lovely pics. Gotta ask, why are all those blue tarps left over from the winter repairs littering the lawn? You'd think the Corps would have had all that cleaned up by now. Big thanks to Roland for picking one up to toss in the trash.

Pic #3 explains the searing pain in my fingers when I stopped. Funny that I have a needle phobia (thanks 1960s penicillin shots with a horse syringe) with needles that I hardly feel but I keep leaving my fingers out, getting literally nauseating pain when they warm and repeat the process with no sense of foreshadowing. Brains can be weird things.
