A Lanier sailing FB group is planning a Sunday "parade of sails"
Ok Fleet, we are gathering on the North end off of Pelican Pete's at 11:00 AM. on Sunday. Heading the flotilla down towards the dam. We will use channel 68 as communications. The goal here is to own the lake for the day. To get as many sailboats as we can on the lake and heading south as one big giant river of sails.
Might be fun if you have gear capable of tagging along a bit. Should be breezy so foil/long/formula boards all should work. You'll need both the skills and gear to run upwind/downwind with the present forecast. Mind the right of way rules even if others aren't as clued in. Try to pass windward of the big sailboats so you aren't hidden by their jibs, etc.
No agenda other than getting a bunch of sailing craft together. (AFAIK) btw, Pelican Pete's is up by Port Royal Marina so it may be better to intercept the crew up by Athens Park (assuming the east forecast).
I'm thinking Equipe or Catalina
You know the answer...
The question is: do I want a beverage during the sail or after.
If the forecast holds this could be a fun Sunday caper... 10 miles of screaming reaches to the dam (but some work to get back). Maybe arrange a pick-up and do a floaty shortboard downwinder?

I may come with the Hobie 18...
Where are you guys launching?

Vanns.
Might be tough to launch a sailboat from Vann's. The boat ramp seems pretty windshadowed for an easterly. The small boat ramp (barely visible in the photo) on the south side is blocked and can't be used.
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
The wife and I will be out on our Santana 20. See y’all out there!
The ramp at Old Fed sees pretty solid east, even better if a bit north of east
Hobie 16 sailed out of there today fwiw...
