A $1700 boom - that's actually pretty cool

Obviously pricey but innovative, a lot of cool stuff and well thought out.

I’d buy the twist lock clew pulley.

Sorry, but can anybody tell why what the advantages of this boom are? I don't really feel like watching the whole video. Or even part of it. (Not a fan of this announcer.)

Among them - using shrink wrap for boom grip. Easy to replace.
Internal routing of adjustable outhaul with cleat directly mounted to boom. Very clean look.
Adjustment doesn't require tail piece to have 40 holes drilled in.
Very clever new outhaul pulley design - will be available as separate item.
Different take on boom head rope routing. Better clamping action.

Am I going to pay that much for a boom? No, but it would be neat for them to sell enough to lower the price.

I'll admit, Ben is my kind of cup of tea.

Thank you for the helpful info. I see that a carbon boom now start near $900......wingsurfing is looking better all the time. I was thinking about what piece of equipment I could buy that would really change my windsport life for the better and I came up with..................................a private jet. OBX would be only a short trip.
