Re: 40 years of Fanatic

Props to Fanatic. They've survived and prospered where a number of their peers haven't: Mistral, F2, Windsurfer Int'l, Tiga, HiFly.

They make very good boards and the current generation of foils is a big improvement.

Re: 40 years of Fanatic

Does anyone know if this is the original company or they just sold their brand name like Mistral?

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

My Ultra Boa 1988 and Art Rad Wing 5.2 ... still have them but on the other side of the big pond... Good times !
Board was awesome and the sail powerful and very comfortable to handle.

They are part of Boards and More, which includes Duotone and Ion: http://https://www.boards-and-more.com

Quote:
Boards & More was founded in 2000 through the merger of the sports brands Mistral, F2 and Fanatic (formerly a brand of the German Schütz Werke ). As a result of the merger, Boards & More became the market leader in the windsurfing market and a leading supplier in the European snowboard market. On August 1, 2003, KJ Jacobs AG sold the company to a team of investors in the Airesis area into which Boards & More was later integrated. After the takeover by Airesis SA , the sale and closure of several brands and a clear focus on the remaining four core brands Fanatic, ION, North Sails and North Kiteboarding.

At the end of 2013, the company was sold on to Emeram Capital Partners GmbH in Munich for 39 million euros . [1]

The company carries out product development, purchasing, logistics, international and national sales and customer service within its own organization.

Today the company is led by Till Eberle (CEO) and Gregor König (CFO).

From elsewhere, F2 was sold off in 2008 after it went insolvent. I think that's about the same time Anders Bringdal bought Mistral.

Board and sail makers should bring those colors back
