I am ot there yet but I can tell you now that the live report will be "it was white caps until Langdon showed up" Smile

Sorry, couldn't help myself as that's what I always hear when I arrive a little late! Right Alan and Gene? Smile

Ok, serious live update: very few white caps but strong, possibly 6.4 for me

Gene had a bad streak for a while. He'd give up and leave; and the wind would turn on like it was on a timer or something. Hopefully, his juju is better now.

G'ville is only reporting ~10mph

Is it doing better than 10 there?

It really was pretty good until about 10min ago - most of us (Alan, Gene, Barrett, Rhett, CP, me) foiling with 6.0-6 4. Died down right now, who knows if done or will come back.

Re: Vann's Wednesday

Real good day at VT and good crowd.
Strong wind, between 10am and ~1:30pm anyways.
Foilers (Rhett, Barret, Alan, Gene, CP, Hamdi) settled on sails in the 6.0 to 7.0 range, even though some started with bigger sails (despite warnings to one of them.that he is going too big and should stick with the trusted 5.2 - hint, Gene Smile ) and soon down sized.
Team fin included David, Howard, and i think i am missing someone? CP and Barret tried both teams, in Barret's case going back and forth between foil and fin gear more than once.
Kiters joined on the late side -David D., Allejo, and Richard G.
Hope more days like this to be coming soon (finally!)

Photos of the closed bathroom at Vanns Tavern. Fortunately only scattered trees were downed by last month's severe thunderstorm, so the Park is still open.

In case you guys didn't know - the bathroom at Tidwell has no fallen trees inside of it.

Then what am I supposed to pee on? A toilet or something?

I'll be at Vann's doing paddleboard yoga if anyone needs me.

Unfortunately, not everyone is using a tree these days....

Re: Vann's Wednesday

Arrived late and hung out before launching my kite. But then I got a good swim work-out - lol. Great to see everyone, that made it all worthwhile. Gotta change a few things, OK, change many things to have success in those conditions. Looking forward to "next-time"!

I had to arrive late, but the wind did come back in the afternoon for a while, but only after it tricked me into rigging a 6 which quickly became obviously too small. So I rerigged and after a brief flight, flogged for almost 40 minutes, before it came back (at least enough for my 7). I recall we had a discussion of how fast you have to go in order to take off and fly. It looks to me like 8-9, but probably closer to 9 MPH is what I needed yesterday. This happened right after I launched the second time around. The rest of the day I had pump harder and it took at least 10 to get flying, though I was faster and more stable when I did.
