I have a problem with this scenario. Marko (or was it Marco?) got here first, but L comes before M in the alphabet. Did someone screw up?
Laura was upgraded/named 9:05 am 9/21 and Marco at 11:00 pm the same day. First come, first served.

Tropical Storm Marco Discussion Number 7
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL142020
1100 PM EDT Fri Aug 21 2020
An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft has investigated the
system over the northwest Caribbean during the past few hours. The
plane reported a number of unflagged SFMR winds between 35 and 40 kt
and max flight level winds of 41 kt. A blend of these data supports
an intensity of 35 kt, and therefore, this system has been
designated as Tropical Storm Marco.
As long as there's wind, I'll have to put up with the rain. Beggars can't be choosers. I have my van loaded in anticipation of H. Laura passing by Atlanta on Saturday.
Question: Has anyone been by Van Pugh to find out if it's open?

It's is going to be a weird fall season if this continues. We'll be at the Old Fed gate at dawn trying to get a parking place. Oops, said too much already.
Thanks! Gene confirmed that Van Pugh is closed with a number of large fallen trees and some damage to the roof of the bathroom building (There's a tarp over the roof.) So Old Fed it is.
Can I bring anything as a thank you? I think we're going to get Simon wet Saturday. It's my one shot at getting him on the foil before he gets tempted to go full wingding. Kai Lenny isn't helping my case.

It looks like it's raining in the morning until 11am- ish. Wouldn't that mean that Old Federal should have good parking until like noon or so?

In theory... It's not as big a deal for you but for us windsurf crew, we have more to carry and the number of decent spots is fewer.
Already trying to get my chores and work done so I will not miss out.
Laura's influence may get here Friday late afternoon as well as Saturday.
I think I should start carb loading on Chips and Salsa no later than tomorrow...

The ACE GIS map still shows it closed. That's what they use to show current status of parks.

If it rains should hold the crowds down.

I am going to Old Federal early (8:30-9 )unless it is pouring.
I will head over to LLSC at lunchtime
It's blowing some already and not raining. I'll join Langdon at Old Fed early, 9.00 hopefully, may end up at LLSC.
