Although not forecasted, it's blowing East some right now, may be foilable, Is anybody sailing at Vanns Tavern now? If so, and it's ok, I might ride over there, but hate to make the long drive if it's nothing.
Gilmer is reporting some good numbers but no way I can get there before it fades. Yesterday afternoon, there was about an hour of a secret session, too.
Both came out of nowhere and it's absolutely dead down in the ATL
I think you are probably right. There was wind this morning between 10-11:30 at least (when we left).
We had every our other Tuesday morning family outing and went to MAP. I had zero confidence there would be any wind so I didn't bring a real windsurf board or sail, but I did bring my I-Sup and I-Sail. It was just patches of ripples intermixed with glassy water at the start but eventually it did fill in and there some dark water, and even a white cap here or there. TBH - I don't think I would have been foiling much with my RF81 and 7.0, but it would have probably been stronger at Tidwell.* Would have been a good chance to try my Starboard windsup with the foil again. But instead it was a missed opportunity. The bottom line - forecasts that are too low is just as bad as one that it too high.....
*And a guy with big red sail, well - the sky is the limit.

Has anyone ever sailed from Athens Park on Easterlies?
Yes, twenty plus years ago when it was still open. It's been closed for a long time. I think some of the kiters used to park at the end of the road and walk down. It used to be a bit of a gay cruising spot, too, apparently. I always thought that people just loved to park and look out at the water from their car. I was naive...* I have no idea if that contributed to its closure. It was a great place to launch from as you could almost throw your board in the water from your car.
Thank you. Whitecaps are extremely hard to capture with a camera. Just take a look at the first vid in your Engadinwind post - none visible in the windfoil race and not even in the wingers race. Clearly there had to be some whitecaps.......

Winfoilers can def. race without whitecaps. It's pretty amazing what the guys/gals at the pointy end can do. All the same, nice pic. Nice to remember what they are supposed to look like.
Thursday looks like maybe a repeat. Or, it's just rain. Who knows. My forecast mojo is in the toilet.
I am watching Wednesday around noon.
May be some wind for an hour or so.
I am only seeing 2 to maybe 6mph today - was today looking better in forecast yesterday?
I will be at Charleston park early am for mtn biking. If I see any ripples, can post.
I think this will be "look out the window and see decision making".
This past Sunday there was enough wind to foil in Dahlonega but I did not see anything at G'ville Airport so I cleaned house.
Monday we could of had an hour or so of flight time in the evening (10 mph wind)
Tuesday late morning had some wind.
My desperation level is high and I have put in way too much time at work. Even an hour session would be great for me.
Growing up 2mi from the beach in Turkey's Black Sea coast, this is pretty much what we prayed for every summer day- (near) glass top water to swim and play at the beach all day. Well, there was when the wind was the enemy, not the alli for fun.
Maybe with some good praying to the wind gods between now and lunch time?

We missed a small kinda sorta opportunity yesterday late afternoon .
I can not make it today. Driving the windsurfing wagon Thursday with the hopes that there will be a little wind
Edit: euro forecast for noon. How's that for localized wind? Are fall easterlies starting early this year?
My guess is there is currently enough wind in Oakwood for a lightweight guy with a red 7.7m sail to foil

Here - I just spotted a white cap in the pic so I circled it.

This is still a thing, I guess: https://www.gaycovelakelanier.com
Randy, that's almost up there with capturing Nessie or Big Foot on camera. Are you going to do a reality series: White Cap Hunters?
* This is not me judging anyone, just how clueless I was to what other people were doing.

Yeah - Thursday is another crap shoot. Door No. 1 is a wasted trip. Door No. 2 is a lost opportunity. What's behind Door No. 3?
