With a foil? (I'd probably use a bigger wing. Never realized this would fit into the center fin slot. Details. 12'2", slot it 38% of way to the nose.

Yes. Chris P loves using foil on his long board. Reminiscent of the slingshot 280

Only one way to find out......I do worry the mast is too far forward.

Do you still have the kite nose for the fuselage?
Didn't see how close the mast holes were to the foil because I'm on the phone. How far is it from foil front screw to mast base?

Yes I do have the Kite nose (and it is actually the one used in the picture.) The distance measured is only 22-31 inches depending on which of the 3 holes I use. I could use either nose - the windsurf nose is 5 inches longer than the kite nose so I anticipated using the kite nose. I could get to about an "effective 36" inches using the short nose.

Looking the Flyer 280, if the schematic I saw is right, the mast hole is about 38 inches from the mast track. In Andy Brandt's video it does seem he used a fuselage that give some extension from the mast, length is unknown however.

I'm hoping (and may be wrong) that the 44 inch "rule" doesn't apply in the case of a longboard because the shapes are so much different than the usual windsfoil boards. Mine has an additional foot of tail behind the Flyer 280 so that may come into play. Anyway - it does seem like balance will be the issue.

I guess I could always try it with a wing......

While it's a shorter distance, the weight of the long nose will counter it a bit. Maybe you could email the guy or guys that have a 280 and get a measurement from them?

I don't know any body that has one. I might post on NW-wind talk there seems to be a few experimenters there. There was a guy that had a 280 also, but I'm not sure who that is. In end it is just going to take a windy day find out.

Wind NC had a pretty good sketch.

The sail mast goes to a screw in hole. There are three of them. The foil mast goes into a tuttle box. I've use this board for windsurfing/SUP for several years now.
