Got this today from Slingshot. It's a stick on centerfin for a hard SUP to allow you to get upwind with a wing.

I remember that. To their credit their fin looks better than what I'm using and certainly better than the cutting board model.
Now if they could just come up with a stick on foil box......(BTW - the stick on foil box was thought to be too weak for windfoiling, but I wonder if it would work for a wing?) Kind of academic anyway since I have a tuttle mount foil.

I remember seeing this picture for at least 10 years, long before the age of foil. This was from an article dated 2015, but I saw it, or some close long before that. Seems like an ideal way to use an old f136 (or f155 if someone had one.)

I'd be more interested in seeing how they recover/waterstart whatever after the crashes. Not as spectacular, but more informative. There are plenty of vids showing crashes, and some showing instruction on recovery, but I'd like to see the recovery in real life not in set up situations.

Obviously impressive but I imagine just the opening salvo. We humans are so competitive. One year ago: it's just something to use on a big foil and enjoy the surf feeling. Now: Strap on the GPS, it's blowing 35.
Makes me wonder if the old school rigid kitewings will find new life on liquid water, rather than the snow and ice they seem to be focused on now. His speed was faster (31 v 27) with the rigid model and it doesn't appear to be the "Speed" version, but just a "sport version." The rigid wings would seem to suffer on the low end being heavier and maybe having less power than the inflatable wings. They are basically about the same as a windsurf rig from what I can see. They weigh 10 lb for a 3 m and about 13-14 for a 6.m pro-version. Costs range from 600-1900. My guess is they won't because they really don't seem to even be trying to get to the liquid water wind sports. Plus, the 4 mph top end advantage of the rigid wings may not last long as the inflatables improve. How many people who are into winging are really into it for top end speed? IDK - but maybe relaunching would be harder. They have been around for years now, but don't ever seem to have gained much ground on liquid water.

Using the 9m wing in light winds. He has what he calls the 'cork method" of pumping. Seems amazing. Subtitles. You could skip to about 4:15 but some of the first part is interesting as well.
If I ever call a dolphin a shark, it's an accident. I would never do that on... .porpoise.
