This may be a bit premature, but Saturday looks like it might be fun from a launch that is not VP and a lake that is not Lanier.
I wanted to discuss this now rather rather than Friday so that we would be able to discuss a more suitable body of water .
Juliet?
Hartwell? ( Although we saw it crowded also )
West Point?
Wind is "supposed" to be WSW.

But where you seeing wind?? Looks like the high is gonna park right on us
Both Euro and GFS are showing wind on Saturday afternoon. They are also showing the possibility of rain. NWS graph showing 8 and mild (25%) chance of rain. Unfortunately, imho, we need to see this play out just a bit more before committing to a drive. May not matter to me as I might be headed to AL.
Saturday looking dryer. Wind looks north: Lanier, Hartwell, etc.
Today (Friday) is looking doable this afternoon.
Anybody going?
Alan
Ed started a Friday (today) thread: https://windsportatlanta.com/content/friday-626-it-going-be-real-wind-62620
just as an FYI.... Asheville Janes and I (coming from Asheville) have opted to stay local (lake James) and pass on Hartwell today. Just seems like a few too many wild cards in the forecast for the bigger drive. (Tommorrow, on Hartwell though, might provide more reliability, even if FX not as big?) Hope you all have a good one wherever you end up!
