Having learned nothing from my misadventure yesterday, am going to try it again today. btw, Barrett called the Corps water temp line yesterday. The recording was still from earlier in the week but the temp was 51. Shok

Thank heavens for neoprene.

I sailed up from Van Pugh but didn't see anyone out. But I was out in the middle of the channel so maybe I should have gotten closer. Chris P and I did Van Pugh. First hour and half on big wing until I saw white caps - foiled almost the whole time in 6-10 Biggrin . Then I switched down after a quick run to a) benchmark the big wing and b) retrieve a football some kids lost in the water. Turned on the GPS and then clocked 25 miles. Big wing definitely gets up earlier but hits a wall around 14 mph.

Anywhooo.... fantastic day. Only had to wave off three boaters who were on a collision course. Sailed with three cats from VP who were has happy as I was. Chop was brutal at times. I was over it so wasn't pounding but did make it feel like a rodeo riding through it.

Highlight of the day was guy who was trying to fly a kite in the parking lot. Yes, in the middle of the parking lot so cars/trucks would have to stop. He couldn't figure out that the trees all around were blocking the wind and I wasn't in the mood to point it out since he wasn't clever enough to at least launch in the grass.

Temps weren't bad enough either to kill the wind or make wearing a wetsuit a nuisance.
